Northern Rockies Regional Municipality issues Evacuation Alert for Natural Gas operations near Pesh Fire

The Northern Rockies Regional Municipality has issued an evacuation alert for two camp operations near the Pesh Fire, 150 km northeast of Fort Nelson.

The alert has been issued for a 960 square kilometre area, from the July and June lakes to the Petitot River. The alert covers the CNRL Gas Plant at the Petitot River, and Penn West facilities in the area.

The northern rockies regional municipality says there is no immediate danger at this time, but people in the area should be ready to evacuate if an order is issued.

The BC Forest Service lists the Pesh fire at just over 48 square kilometres
